Herbed Bagoong Puttanesca

A pleasantly surprising Filipino take on an Italian classic using high quality herbs and spices from McCormick.




750 Grams Cooked Angel hair pasta

4 Tbsp Spicy bagoong

4 Cloves Garlic chopped in bits

1 Tsp McCormick Spanish Paprika

1 Tsp McCormick Oregano Leaves Ground

4 dashes McCormick Thyme Leaves Whole

½ Tsp McCormick Basil Leaves Whole

1 Cup Chorizo Slices

1 Cup Tomato Sauce

1 Cup Red Wine

½ Cup Whole Capers

¼ Cup Virgin Olive Oil

½ Cup Parmesan Cheese

Optional: Garnish with Tomatoes sliced into halves and Fresh Basil


  1. In pan heat the olive oil. Once heated, sauté garlic, chorizo, bagoong, spices and herbs.
  2. Add capers, tomato sauce and red wine and let it simmer for 15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  3. Then pour over your angel hair pasta and sprinkle Parmesan on top.
  4. Garnish with fresh basil and sliced tomatoes
